Home Modification Assessments in Brisbane

Core OT’s experienced occupational therapists conduct comprehensive home modification assessments across Brisbane. We visit your home to identify barriers to safe independent living and recommend modifications that will improve your safety, accessibility, and quality of life.

What Are Home Modifications?

Home modifications are structural or equipment changes made to your home to make it safer and more accessible. These range from minor adjustments like grab rails and ramps to major structural changes such as bathroom modifications, widened doorways, and hoist installations.

Types of Home Modifications We Assess

  • Bathroom and shower modifications (grab rails, shower chairs, roll-in showers)
  • Entrance ramps and threshold modifications
  • Stair lifts and hoisting systems
  • Widened doorways for wheelchair access
  • Kitchen modifications for independent meal preparation
  • Bedroom adaptations for safe transfers
  • Non-slip flooring and safety lighting

NDIS-Funded Home Modifications

Home modifications can be funded through your NDIS plan under Capital – Assistive Technology and Home Modifications. Core OT will assess your needs, provide a written report and recommendations, and liaise with your NDIS planner or support coordinator to support approval of the modifications.

Who Can Benefit?

Home modification assessments are suitable for NDIS participants, Home Care Package recipients, DVA-funded clients, and private clients who need to adapt their homes due to disability, injury, or the effects of ageing.
