We provide comprehensive assessment for Supported Independent Living (SIL) & Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) which may help you become more independent in a suitable accommodation.

Supported independent living (SIL)– It includes help or supervision with daily tasks, like personal care or cooking meals. It helps you live as independently as possible, while building your skills. Supported independent living is for people with higher support needs, who need some level of help at home all the time. Supported independent living is best suited to people with a disability who have higher support needs.

Our Occupational Therapists are experienced in using a wide range of assessments to ensure NDIS receive very clear and comprehensive information available to them when making SIL and SDA decisions based on the reasonable and necessary criteria. Our report layout enables the reader to make clear connections between the participants level of ability, requirement for support and/or specialist housing and the NDIS requirements.

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA):

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is a type of housing or accommodation for participants who require specialist housing solutions (for example specific modifications or assistive technology) and to cater for their complex functional impairment or high support needs. SDA assessment involves an extensive evaluation of your current and future needs, and provides a recommendation to NDIS regarding your eligibility for specialist disability accommodation and the specific environmental features required for optimal independence and safety. This can include specific recommendations around fully accessible homes, installation of ceiling hoists, use of home automation technology or robust features to aid safety.
